Enjoy Seeing Them While You’re on Vacation No idea of where to go for a holiday "get-away"? Why don’t you try Puerto Vallarta? Most people would love to enter the paradise world known as Puerto Vallarta! Banderas Bay is just the place for sunbathing, snorkeling and surfing. If you love these activities then Puerto Vallarta is the best place to stay! There is no need to worry about the facilities and accommodations because there are all-inclusive condos and hotels all over the place. In Puerto Vallarta, you will be communing with nature in a relaxing manner. There are colorful butterflies, bountiful tropical flora, egrets, pelicans, scissor tails, geckos and Puerto Vallarta Iguanas! When it comes to other enjoyable activities, Puerto Vallarta is also rich with them. Golf courses and bars abound. With all of its captivating scenery, Puerto Vallarta has been featured in Hollywood movies more than once! In fact, it was 1963 that the place was taken to center stage with the film "Night of the Iguana." Local Puerto Vallarta travel is by bus. The trip will not be boring since there is drummers, tooting flute players, "buskers," singers and guitar strummers on board to entertain the passengers. When you reach your destination, you can settle in to a homey environment as offered by any number of hotels and condos around the area. The Puerto Vallartans are very hospitable and will take care of you. You can go bar hopping, visit galleries, listen to music, surf, snorkel, scuba dive, enjoy the lush beauty of nature, walk by the seashore, swim, tour the caves, and, most importantly, see the Puerto Vallarta Iguanas. ![]() Because Puerto Vallarta is a place that is close to nature, the Puerto Vallarta Iguanas thrive in it. They can be seen close to streams and rivers and around cacti, burrows and shrubs. And they can usually be seen atop the trees basking in the sun to help regulate their body temperature. They enjoy eating fruit, seeds, flowers and leaves off the bushes, and then dive into the water, especially when predators approach them. Puerto Vallarta Iguanas are fast runners and splendid swimmers. When these reptiles sense an oncoming attack, they usually strike with their tail, or bite or scratch the enemy as a way of defense. Aside from this, they prove to be harmless to humans. In the past, Puerto Vallarta Iguanas could be spotted near the coastlines but because of tourist development, they have been forced to retreat to the far sides of the island. Like other animals, the existence of the Puerto Vallarta Iguana is now also at risk especially with the rate of destruction of their natural dwellings. Let's hope restoration of their habitats will be taken into consideration so that they can enjoy their existence for generations to come. |
